To All the Henry Cavills I’ve Loved Before

Courtney is a suburban mother to 3 fierce little women…
We all have our weaknesses, right? Some people are rabid avid sports fans. Others are wine snobs, have to have all the latest in fashion, travel to all the cool places or eat all the best food.
Being a simple woman, my weaknesses include debonair British men with beautiful smiles, gorgeous hair, muscles for days and an undying love for their American Akita named Kal. So, yes, my weakness is Henry Cavill. Sue me, okay?
With the buzz surrounding Netflix’s The Witcher series, I decided to take a stroll down memory lane and visit all of the Henry Cavill characters I’ve loved before.
5. Mission Impossible: Fallout – August Walker
Yes, this was the one with the mustache heard ‘round the world, I get it. He owned the damn thing though. So much so D.C. Comics edited it off of his face for Superman. It was somewhere in between a porn ‘stache and a creepy college professor. He commanded our attention as Tom Cruise’s nemesis and made bad feel so, so good.
4. The Man from U.N.C.L.E. – Napoleon Solo
A remake of 1964 TV series, this is eye candy supreme. Cold War, Nazis, mod fashion, KGB, CIA and most importantly: Henry + Armie Hammer = perfection. If you have no desire to be the meat in that sandwich, you might not have a pulse. No words can make it better…just watch it.
3. The Immortals – Theseus
Who doesn’t love a good, old-fashioned Greek tragedy? Our boyfriend, is a simple stonemason and bastard child turned epic hero. He shows off a healthy Grecian tan, long, lean muscles and minimal clothing in various battle and love scenes. This expanded my thirst for the man and I have ZERO shame.
2. The Witcher – Geralt of Rivia
So. Much. Buzz. leading up to this, all warranted in my opinion. Geralt has a low smooth voice worthy of an ASMR video and also to sex you up. His blunt, dry wit pulled off to perfection, makes you realize you want to hang out with him, not just bone and throw a coin to him. The wardrobe, mostly all black, makes him almost as mysterious as he is sexy. This latest character dive makes him all the more irresistible.
1. The Tudors – Lord Charles Brandon
I’m going back to the beginning here. Picture it: Texas, January 2011. I was up all hours of the night nursing my surge-feeding newborn. I began binge watching shows, one of which was The Tudors with a young Henry. He played Henry VIII’s BFF Lord Brandon. So much hijinx, most of which was political and sexual. I was smitten. It was the first time I had really seen him in a roll. But when I saw him in season 4 – WOW. He was bulkier, had a bit of facial hair and long enough hair to grab on to it wear it down or pulled back in the battle field. He’s been my weakness ever since.
Who is your favorite Henry Cavill? If you say Superman, you’re wrong.
Courtney is a suburban mother to 3 fierce little women (& 2 not so fierce puppies) who is readjusting to American life after living abroad. She’s a little hippy-dippy, a proud bright, blue star in a big, red state & the epitome of a red-headed Scorpio.. When she is not re-reading books she should’ve read in high school, Twilight & Outlander, she’s obsessed with all things historical fiction. She has a weakness for watching BBC dramas, Outlander (duh) & Seinfeld reruns. She has a passion for what’s happening in the world & traveling it. She is also a self-proclaimed expert in all things 80’s & 90’s, sports, strong coffee, art, Italian red wines & German beers.
