You Need to Read Sarah J. Maas’s A Court of Silver Flames

If you’re anything like me, you are in constant search of that one perfect book that will swallow you whole and spit you out slightly heartbroken that it’s over and just a little turned on. Sarah J. Maas’s A Court of Silver Flames is that book.
Nesta Archeron has always been prickly-proud, swift to anger, and slow to forgive. And ever since being forced into the Cauldron and becoming High Fae against her will, she’s struggled to find a place for herself within the strange, deadly world she inhabits. Worse, she can’t seem to move past the horrors of the war with Hybern and all she lost in it.
The one person who ignites her temper more than any other is Cassian, the battle-scarred warrior whose position in Rhysand and Feyre’s Night Court keeps him constantly in Nesta’s orbit. But her temper isn’t the only thing Cassian ignites. The fire between them is undeniable, and only burns hotter as they are forced into close quarters with each other.
First things first, yes, you need to read the rest of the A Court of Thorns and Roses series before you read this one. I don’t make the rules. But, if you haven’t read all of the winged fae goodness of Rhysand and Feyre yet, you haven’t truly been living anyway. Start reading them immediately.
Okay, now that you’re caught up on the Night Court and have suddenly developed an affinity for hot fae males with wings, it’s time for A Court of Silver Flames.
This book has it all: female empowerment, unrequited love, mating bonds, childhood trauma, physical healing, emotional healing, healthy female friendships, a full-on gauntlet to the death, and really hot sex scenes. Like, really hot.
I thoroughly enjoyed every page of Cassian and Nesta’s story. It had the intrigue of a fantasy novel, the core characters I love from the rest of the series, and a really great romance. It isn’t a pretty story, but it is one I won’t stop thinking about any time soon.
