The Excellent Return of Bill and Ted

Courtney is a suburban mother to 3 fierce little women…
It was just this week, 31 years ago (1989 if you hate math) that the world was introduced to Ted “Theodore” Logan and Bill S. Preston, Esquire in Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure. Keanu Reeves (Ted) and Alex Winter (Bill) adorned the screen as two friends & Wyld Stallyns bandmates from San Dimas, California. Albeit campy, it was fairly typical of the genre in the late 80’s-early 90’s, and it has remained a nostalgic favorite of many from the time, myself included.
Reeves and Winter announced the return the their characters for a third installment of the B & T franchise, Bill and Ted Face the Music, via Twitter int true Wyld Stallyns form:
The world is about to get a lot more excellent. Watch this special announcement from your two favorite dudes! 8.21.20 🎸⚡️ pic.twitter.com/miOtBhinlC

The new movie is set three decades from the past, in our current time. And Bill and Ted both have high school-aged daughters, Billie and Thea. Billie is played by Brigette Lundy-Paine and Thea is played by Samara Weaving.
Introducing the most excellent offspring! Thea Preston and Billie Logan will join their dads as they #FaceTheMusic! 🎸⚡️ #BillAndTed3 hits theaters August 21! pic.twitter.com/QClH6xDlXG

Bill and Ted are still making their righteous music, but have yet to help humanity build that utopia from Excellent Adventure, when a visitor from the future arrives. They are again tasked with 78 minutes to fulfill a prophesy or the utopia will never exist.
Are they up for the task? We won’t know until August 21, 2020. The buzz around Bill & Ted 3 has stayed remarkably close to its roots and fanbase. You can follow them on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook. If you are a fan, they do NOT disappoint.
Will the new installment be cheesy? Probably, but in a time where original content is disappearing, a nostalgic trip to San Dimas could be a refreshing break. Look for our coverage of Bill and Ted Face the Music this summer and until then remember…
Be excellent to each other!
Courtney is a suburban mother to 3 fierce little women (& 2 not so fierce puppies) who is readjusting to American life after living abroad. She’s a little hippy-dippy, a proud bright, blue star in a big, red state & the epitome of a red-headed Scorpio.. When she is not re-reading books she should’ve read in high school, Twilight & Outlander, she’s obsessed with all things historical fiction. She has a weakness for watching BBC dramas, Outlander (duh) & Seinfeld reruns. She has a passion for what’s happening in the world & traveling it. She is also a self-proclaimed expert in all things 80’s & 90’s, sports, strong coffee, art, Italian red wines & German beers.
